The “OZZIE” Award
The Okanagan Zone Recognition Award, known regionally as the “Ozzie,” was initiated in 1992 by Theatre BC on the occasion of its 60th anniversary. It was to be a way for all ten provincial Zones to acknowledge, for the first time, outstanding individual contribution to their Zones and to community theatre in British Columbia.
Each year the Okanagan Zone presents The “Ozzie” Award in recognition of long-time service and contribution to the Zone by an individual member who is nominated by a member club and chosen by a committee of formr Ozzie winners.
Along with a keeper plaque, the Ozzie is presented at the awards ceremony on the final night of the Okanagan Zone Festival by the committee and the previous year's winner.
Application deadline for nominations is April 30th.
Please send your nomination, together with the name and address of the nominee, a brief biography and the reason for the nomination, including newspaper articles, letters of commendation and other supporting data to:
